my take is....... option 2 says.........doubling the sum in the numerator......that amounts to multiplying by 2 and the second part says moving the decimal point one place to the left........this amounts to multiplying the denominator by 2 again....as the denominator already has 5.... also no choice...

my ans - 11

the number of boys and girls has to be multiple of 6.so the combinations possible are (12,12) ; (6,18) ; (18,6) and the last combination gives maximum number ie 9 and 2.
