Kaplan 800

Hi guys Regarding Kaplan 800…..I scored 630 (Q35 V41) - I usually score a lot better in quant but on day went wrong. Anyway I will be using MGMAT to get my quant on track. However, the verbal questions are too easy in OG and I still remember all the answers, is it thus worth purchasing Kaplan 800 fo...

Thanks Buddy.

The Quant I think I will go through OG material, for Verbal do you (or anyone else) know of more challenging yet similar material?

630 – When to start studying again?

Hi Folks I need your advice…. I scored 630 (Q35 V41). As you can see I performed poorly on the quant, in fact, what is really annoying is that my average is 39/40 on quant, and on my last GMATPrep before the test I scaled 43! So I screwed up on quant. I think if scaled my average on quant, at least,...

It maybe worth signing up for classes, i know MGMAT (good for SC and DS) has offers for the holiday season.... whoever you go with, if you do, I think it will help, as sometimes it is just fundamental content and strategy that one needs to brush up on.

Thanks Dude. I definitely know my weaknesses (mostly if not exclusively PS) and currently am studying full time, so can put the hours in. Your points are certainly valid; I think it is probably worth hiring someone out locally to focus on my weak areas, thus not exhausting my budget. This way I can ...

Are you studying continuously or taking breaks? You should study no more then 2 hours at a time, with at least 1.5 to 2 hours break. If you are working full time too, then I would say better to do 2 hours a day, and on the weekend, spread it out doing three 2 hours sessions and in between each sessi...

Private tutoring with only four weeks to go?

Hi Folks I have four weeks before my test and wondering if getting private tutoring worthwhile? I am currently scoring all over the place from low 500s to low 600s. And, I would like to score 700+, thus a 100+ point jump. I have been told, with four weeks to go a private tutor will not add much valu...

cool - i'm sticking to my method, 60 over 11, 5 times (i decimal diff) thus 0.5 reminder 5 (thus 0.05) is 50 over 11 which is 4 times (44) (the 4 is 2 decimal diff thus 0.04 total now 0.54) and remainder 6 which is actuallly 0.006 which again becomes 60 but with 3 decimal difference and the cycle co...

thanks guys - i agree identifying the pattern here is key. But typically for me it is the simple things i have problems with and not the more complicated one. Such as what is the best process to divide 6 by 11? i can 60 by 55 which 5 then 5 remainder and try to play with that, but this takes forever...

Hello Paul I found PR useful too, I started ti supplimnet with school math books to brush up, but most of the math is unnecessary for the GMAT. Once I read the ‘Kaplan GMAT Math Workbook’ I regretted reading any other math book. This book is basic but essentially deals with all fundamental and is ta...

OG11 PS - Q219 poor explanation - can anyone help

Hello folks, OG PS section question 219 has a really poor explanation to the answer - can anyone do a better job? Question What is the 25th digit to the right of the decimal point in the form of 6/11 (6 divided by 11)? Answer is 5 Explanation 6/11 = 0.54545454… every odd numbered digit is 5 therefor...

Thanks Stacey. I have three follow up points on this. 1) How does one identify the categories (number properties etc) without looking at the answer section? I’m referring specifically to OG books, unless you know of other question sources that break questions into these categories? 2) OG 11, organis...
