GMAT exam curve
Hi, I understand that schools take the highest GMAT score. However do they form a negative or positive opinion by looking at the GMAT curve, i.e. 600 -> 650 -> 680 -> 730 (+ve) 670 -> 720 > 660 (-ve) 680 -> 700 -> 650 -> 700 (+ve or -ve or neutral ?) 640 -> 710 -> 680 -> 730 (+ve or neutral ?) In ot...

Hey, Believe me you can hit 700 with the kind of practice test scores that you have. I would say that on exam day, just relax and treat the exam as just another episode, think that your life is not solely dependent on it. Take a deep breath before you start. Do not think of the end result at the beg...

Which IR/AWA will schools consider ?
If someone has taken the GMAT twice and the scores are as follows:
GMAT1 (700): Q-49, V-35, IR-6.0, AWA-6.0
GMAT2 (660): Q-48, V-31, IR:8.0, AWA-5.5
Which IR/AWA scores will the schools take ? I understand that they take the highest GMAT score but how does that relate to IR/AWA ?

Recommender Selection
Do B-schools make it mandatory for students to choose a current supervisor in an organization as a recommender or are past supervisors also ok to get recommendations from ? Is there a disadvantage in that case if someone does not want to involve the immediate supervisor due to job considerations ?

Pursuing MBA at age 36 ?
I want to know how B-schools react to the age factor for professionally experienced people who want to pursue MBA and change domains. Is 36 too old or does the age not matter at all if you have other factors like solid GPA, GMAT score, sound domain knowledge, etc. going in your favor ?

In my opinion it makes more sense not to retake it since you are very well placed within the middle 80% in quite a few of the top B-schools. If you do not have a specific school in mind, there is a realistic chance for a good admission and that chance can be broadened if you have a good overall appl...
