What is the greatest value of X?

1) x is an integer
2) 6<x<8

I don't understand why statement 2 is not sufficient. can someone explain why x has to be an integer to answer the question? thx

What is the greatest possible value of X?

1) X is an integer 2) 6<x<7 the solution is both statement are needed. Why statement 2 isn't sufficient by itself? i mean in that case the greatest possible value of x = 6,9 since nothing in the problem says that x has to be an integer? I obviously miss something here. please help, anyone. thx

Length of RC passages

Can someone confirm an information (not that it is crucial to know it, but still...)? I find all kinds of contractidory information on the web regarding RC passages length. However, when I go on mba.com (http://www.mba.com/the-gmat/test-structure-and-overview/verbal-section.aspx), it says: "Rea...

I finally received my full Gmat score. 44 Q, 26 V (580...) AWA 5 and IR 6. Can anyone tell me if my scores in IR and AWA can balance my shitty verbal score? I screwed up that part of the exam and since all the other sections are fine, do I still have some chances or should i just retake the exam. Fo...

Hi David, Well the latest GMAT prep I took, I had 620 (Q44 V30). The one before, 640 (Q49 V28). As you see, verbal is my weakness... I had a very bad verbal score and underperformed math on D day. I had 44 in Q and 26 V... The worst is that I thought that verbal was going well. My main weakness does...

Number raised to 0 power

Hi,
Can someone confirms that 2^-0 is not 2/0 but rather 1 just as per 2^0?

Each of the following equations has at least one solution EXCEPT

–2^n = (–2)^-n
2^-n = (–2)^n
2^n = (–2)^-n
(–2)^n = –2^n
(–2)^-n = –2^-n

Answer is a.
Thx
