Oxford vs SDA Bocconi
Hi guys, I just received final offers from those two bschools, and I have roughly two weeks to make up my mind and decide which program to attend next year. Since I am not leaning toward any of the two options, I want to ask your opinion ("which one? why?"), taking into account that: - I a...

Anyway, if you have questions or wanna share your story and profile, contact me and we can talk a little about this awesome ...

Hi Rohit, just my 2 cents: I am completing my Ph.D. in environmental engineering this year; I am also going to apply to a number of European MBA Programs, so I am sort of both a Ph.D. and a prospective MBA. In my opinion PhD and MBA are two different degrees for many reason, so first of all try to u...

You might need to ratchet-down the post-MBA salary expectations; there's often a correlation between number of years of pre-MBA work experience and salary. I am very interested in this point, could you expand it a little? I mean, what do you mean with "ratchet-down"? Is it something that ...

I think I have another question, mainly related with the post-MBA job market: given my profile, are there post-MBA careers that can be considered out of my reach (e.g., consulting, finance,...)? I am asking this because I want to get a better idea of the opportunities I'd have once I completed my MBA.

Same situation here, and I was thinking about getting started w/ recommendation letters now, and focus on essays in June; what is more, sometimes BSchools may slightly change their essays from one year to another, so to me it makes sense to wait a little bit. Advice is highly appreciated.

The thing is that I really need to get in touch with admission offices because I am aware that some of the top ranked MBA programs might look for profiles different from mine, and I definitely don't want to get a ding just because my profile is atypical. Moreover, it's almost time for me to start wo...

Well, abhi0syal, I hope to receive some informal assessments, otherwise I don't know how to assess my chances to get accepted. In addition, my lack of work experience might force admission offices to advise me to gain more WE before applying.

@abhi0syal: in my humble opinion, I am exactly in the opposite situation, ie I lack work experience since the three years spent getting my Ph.D. won't count for many b-schools. So no, I honestly don't think that EMBA might be a real option in this case. It is also possible that I am not aware of the...

Actually, I am applying next year: my point was that I think I have enough time to cope with 4-5 application processes, and that's why I was asking whether I should apply to some "stretch" programs as well (let's say, in addition to Oxford-Cranfield-Bocconi), such as LBS or INSEAD. Eventua...

I was wondering, since I will apply to bschools in R1 next year and I have enough time at the moment, if I should also consider a couple more programs, namely a stretch one (LBS-Judge-INSEAD) and a safe (Manchester-Cass)...

The thing about recommendations is that I might try to get one of them from the world outside academia, but that would not be as strong as the one written by my supervisor; I always thought that one of the most important aspects in a recommendation letter (when applying to MBA programs) is that the ...

Profile evaluation - from research field
Hi everyone! I am writing this post because I have quite an unusual background for a MBA prospective and before applying I would be most grateful for any feedback on my chances of getting into one of the Bschools I am aiming to. Here are my stats: Nationality : Italian. Age : 29/30 on matriculation....

Well, maybe it's just normal to feel like this, but a part of me believes that I'm ready, while somewhere in my heart I still think that after all these nice numbers I can get a disheartening official score...I mean, I really wanna go for it, it's just that I don't know if the final score will reall...
