Ya you're basically the only other person I know that's applying. I've heard of a couple of others, but they've almost all been people that were business/accounting majors, and HBS implies that they're not really going to consider people from traditional business backgrounds for 2+2. But I guess we'...

Ya, it's cool to see someone else applying to this program. I know what you mean, I'm not sure how the whole 2+2 thing is going to pan out. But I guess we have nothing to lose, right? Here's my profile: State University in the west Double major in mechanical engineering and math, GPA of 3.99 25/male...

Congratulations on your GMAT success. I am also applying to the 2+2 program. How are your essays going? I can't wait until they're done. I'm just curious, what's your general profile?

OG 11 Verbal questions

In the OG, it's fairly accepted that the quant problems are not very challenging, except for the last 40 or 50 (for a 700+ level test taker). Is this the case with the verbal questions also? Or is there less disparity in the difficulty level of the verbal questions? I'm just trying to decide if I sh...

MGMAT Verbal scoring

How well would you all say that the verbal scores on MGMAT CAT's correlate with the actual GMAT verbal scores? It seems that a lot of people get actual GMAT verbal scores that are a bit lower than their MGMAT verbal scores. So for example, I've gotten a verbal score of 45 on my last four MGMAT CAT's...

For any DS question, set up a grid that is BD ACE or AD BCE depending on which statement you want to evaluate first. For example, say you want to evaluate statement 2) first, so you would write out BD ACE If 2) is sufficient, then you would cross out ACE. Then you would evaluate statement 1) next. I...

Appropriate essay topic

Hi Nikhil, I have a question about essays. I am currently applying to the HBS 2+2 program; the first essay asks something along the lines of "What are your 3 most substantial accomplishments and why do you view them as such?" For one of the three accomplishments, I am considering the follo...

One other thing you might want to check on is how HBS views a degree in management. The 2+2 website, as well as HBS admissions staff, state that the 2+2 is for people that are not already on a traditional business track or in traditional business majors. It seems that they are targeting students fro...

Well done! That is an amazing score.

How well did you feel that the GmatPrep questions reflected the actual GMAT questions (in both quant and verbal)?

The point you bring up - that the EC recommender will be able to give a much stronger and comprehensive recommendation - is the same reason that I would prefer to use this person (instead of an internship supervisor that only interacted with me for 3 months). I'm sure the internship supervisor would...

Thanks for the input Lisa. I do have some other more recent experiences from college. For any programs that will allow 3 LOR, I'm planning to use a supervisor from a summer internship in addition to the professor and the advisor from the 2-year volunteer experience. However, some programs only allow...

Thanks for this great advice. Is it acceptable that this particular LOR will have been from an experience that ended 3.5 years ago? As for my plans: I will be finishing a double major in mechanical engineering and mathematics next May. I want to get into tech management. Besides finding it fascinati...
