(1/5)^m * (1/4)^18 = 1/2(10)^35
--------
(1/5)^m * (1/4)^18=(1/5)^m * (1/2)^36=(1/5)^m * 1/(2*2^35)
and
1/2(10)^35=1/(2*5^35*2^35)

m=35

first lets get the question right: On a scale that measures the intensity of a certain phenomen, a reading of n+1 corresponds to an intensity that is 10 times the intensity corresponding to a reading of n. 8 is how many times as great as the intensity corresponding to a reading of three? Again, GP q...

A.

increase by a factor means geometrical progression with factor a
Starting with 10

after 2 iterations, ie 7pm, population should reach 10axa=10a^2
hence 10a^2=14.4
a=1.2 or -1.2 but a>0, so i keep a=1.2 only

at 4pm, after 1 iteration of 3h, we have 10x1.2=12

Now that being said, wouldn't the sqrt(x^2) = x^2/2 = x

the answer is no because:

sqrt(x^2) = sqrt (1^2)x sqr (x^2/2) = x
OR
sqrt(x^2) = sqrt (-1)^2)x sqr (x^2/2) = -x

x and -x are conventionally written abs x

if it ends with a white, you have lets say X full sequences of 5 beads and a portion made of 3 beads.

Basically you are looking for a number that is divisible by 5 with a remainder of 3

there is only 68 that fulfills such condition=>E

2^x - 2^(x-2) = 3(2^13)

1. Factorization by 2^(x-2) as it is the highest factor of 2^x - 2^(x-2)
(2^2-1)x2^(x-2)=3(2^13)
3x2^(x-2)=3(2^13), ie by dividing by 3 each side of equation
2^(x-2)=2^13

hence x-2=13
x=15

when x=a+b, f(x)=f(a+b)=-3(a+b). In the same time f(a)+f(b)=-3a-3b=-3(a+b)

11. The cost to rent a small bus for a trip is x dollars, which is to be shared equally among the people taking the trip. If 10 people take the trip rather than 16, how many more dollars, in terms of x, will it cost per person? for 10 people, individual cost is x/10 for 16, x/16. x/10-x/16=(8x-5x)/8...
