From 610 to a lopsided 690. What to do?

Hello, My first attempt at the GMAT was in November and I got a sad 610. My second attempt (today) was a 690, but the score is very lopsided: Q42 and V42 The average of the school I'm applying to is 660. How bad is the Q42 going to look? The thing is, outside of the GMAT I have always been very good...

I took two years of calculus and also got A's. I LOVED Calculus...But being good at math does not mean you will do well on the GMAT (shocking right?). And anyways Calculus math is completely different from anything on this exam. They're also testing you on your reasoning abilities (what are they rea...

You could always hire a non-GMAT tutor for whatever your weaknesses are. I hired a math tutor as opposed to a GMAT tutor and recommend it. I payed $20/hour. And I completely understand what you mean about a class possibly being useless. I also took a class for my SATs and got nothing out of it. The ...

Destroyed and confused...

I just took the GMAT and got a shocking 610. My first practice test (MGMAT) that I took was a 630 (before studying at all). I normally don't do so great on standardized exams, but this wasn't just "not doing well." After two months of studying, I would have expected so much more. The avera...

I was also worried about my MGMAT score and if it may reflect what I would get on the real exam. Then I took a GMATPrep CAT...and wow it was like a different exam entirely. The math was very different. It took much less time to solve than the MGMAT math and my score was higher. But to that degree, t...

Congratulations! Thank you for all of your advice about each of the CAT options. I was just wondering, (and most people say that the quant in the MGMAT tests is much harder), but could you explain how it is so? Also, if I got for example a 42 on the MGMAT quant, would you say it is comparable to a 4...

Is it true that the Manhattan GMAT tends to be a bit tougher than the GMATPrep tests? I've read this a couple of times now but have also read the opposite. I tend to do better on the MGMAT exams which is why I ask. Thanks The quant (and IR actually) on the Manhattan tests is much harder, because it...

Where has this question come from? You could easily argue that each answer is wrong. B for example...you can't say that a work "took someone seven years." What does that even mean? "Took him seven years to complete" maybe. Actually I see what went wrong. The person that posted th...

MGMAT CATs: the Quant section

I was wondering, if anyone knew how close to the real GMAT questions the MGMAT quant is. I was taking my second CAT the other day, and just started crying in the middle of the quant section. Before this, I was always good at math, so it's incredibly frustrating. I can't tell, if I'm just weak in qua...

Your study plan will be significantly affected by your current performance level. Have you taken a diagnostic test yet? If so, what was your baseline score? The MGMAT guides + OG will be sufficient if you've already mastered the basics. Also, make sure that you are setting a realistic schedule for ...

Does this sound like the right study material and schedule?

Hello, I just bought the 10 Manhattan GMAT books (5th edition) and also plan on getting the Official Guide. Moreover, I am going to use the Manhattan 6 online practice tests. However, I don't feel like this is enough study material. Can someone please recommend anything else? I'm not looking for a d...
