Hi Akshat, Barring few exceptions, one shouldn’t focus on a school depending on what you want to do in the medium term. It should be mainly driven by your short-term goal. Moreover, unlike few years back, now most reputed programs have better entrepreneurial offering. Gone are the days when Babson...

Hi Gagandeep, Consulting is the most common recruiting industry at B-schools, and top 20-25 schools can get you there. If you mean PM role in tech industry, then again most top schools, those on the West Coast (Haas, UCLA, UW etc.) and schools such as Tepper or specialized programs such Cornell’s ...

Hi Sahil, I think your work experience will be the biggest challenge. Your professional experience combined with your side gig spans few industries and may give the impression of lack of focus. Details of your experience matters, but if you don’t have few solid professional achievements and career...

It seems you're still pursuing undergrad. If that's the case, you should get some work experience before applying. Unlike MBA programs in India, most international MBA programs take students who have worked for few years. Second, get recommendation from those who've seen your work. Names wouldn't ma...

700 is fine for part-time programs. You need to focus on rest of the application to stand out – leadership skills, disproportionate impact at work place, and other managerial skills. You can also reflect on how you can differentiate from others with similar profile and why you want to attend a par...

Hi sid4129, By default one should explain anything that, otherwise, admission committee may interpret their own sweet way. A low undergrad GPA no doubt pops out, and, in my opinion, it should be explained, if there are reasons. The same explanation can go on to touch upon improvement you made since ...

Hi pallavitiwari26,
Not sure what schools you’re looking at, but 640 would fall short for most reputed programs. While GMAT score is not an overriding factor, it’s an important filter. Try to get as close as possible to the median score for the program you’re targeting.

Retake the GMAT.
At top schools, a low score can keep an applicant out, but a high score doesn’t get one in on its own. The schools you’re targeting have average scores in the range of 730 and there is no dearth of people applying with super-high scores.

Hi tarnojmimy, Your current startup (which sounds like reasonably further on the growth curve) stint could provide a big differentiator to your application. Such companies usually have fast-paced, many-parts-moving, rapid growth kind of trajectory, which can be an attractive experience for B-schools...

Hi mohnish311, Few things you can do to strengthen your candidature when you apply in 2019: 1. Get a high GMAT score, 740-750 at least. 2. Excel at your work: high impact, leadership role (not necessarily by dint of position), promotion etc. 3. For interests outside work, focus on 1-2 things and go ...

If you’ve a non-traditional professional background (example: biotech, military, government, education, fashion, high tech, art, sports, and non-profit to name few), then you score well on the diversity quotient that most schools value. Hi SchopiGMAT, You don’t need to send anything to speak to the admissions office. However, few may ask for resume before the call. So send it only when they ask for it. Besides, speak to them if you’ve any questions about the program, and it goes without saying that before pinging them you shoul...
