I myself chosen Europe over rest of the world so my views might be biased. I partially agree with points but fully agree with your conclusion. 1) Admissions Can Be Less Competitive (in Some Ways) -- If GMAT or GPA is your only yardstick then yes .... or else completely wrong. Many schools in UK pain...

Thank you so much AlunL, appreciate that. Yes, MBS programme is probably the most extensive and very well paced for learning and absorbing. That will definitely help in a big way in longer term. Agree, MBS is better known outside, specially in Asia. Rural or city life, both ways is fine with us. I h...

My simple advice is, if you really want to do something serious then crack GMAT and go for a full time MBA. Absolutely no second thought about that. Marketing people will tell you wonderful stories but in reality, anything except a full time MBA gives you just a certificate. If you dream that online...

Agree, being open definitely helps. personally, for me, 'exploring the unexplored area' has some fatal attraction. For top schools, jobs comes to them. For rest of the schools, the school has to work really hard to get job for most of their students. Here comes the KPI of the placement section. KPI ...

Cranfield or Manchester Full Time MBA --- need your help
Please share your thoughts. This is a real tough decision for me. I am a traditional person, who rely on heart when brain fails, but this time, heart is also failing. I am fortunate enough to be selected at both MBS and Cranfield and I am unable to decide between the two. By the way, I have already...

Schools talks very highly about holistic evaluation, 360 degree evaluation and blah blah but most of the schools does not have the band width to do that. So practically, all selection is primarily based on your GMAT score and interviews. Although schools will never ever directly admit that they reje...

Practice is one part of GMAT but most important aspect is a. Your fundamental knowledge b. Your intelligence and smartness. GMAT require focus and dedication. What do you think of a full time manager, with an infant at home? It is easily possible to have 3 hours everyday (9PM-midnight) and 10+ hours...

This kind of rubbish and controversal questions are very unlikely to come in GMAT.

For the original poster, YES, it will be tough. Precisely this is the single most reason why many schools flatly refuse to admit senior guys. by the way, I am one. Then I agree with Ivy, being in a disatvantage position, you need to act differently, you need to work extra hard from day one. And ofco...

Very sensible post indeed.
The original post was almost 6 months back. The economic outlook probably worsened a bit in the last 6 months. However, the busrsting of few EU countries were avoided and a full fledged EU mess is no more in the radar at the moment.
So what about the 2 tier schools now?

Think positively. Probably the school was not confident that such a strong student like you will join them. So instead of wasting their time and a seat, they choosen not to consider you. Atleast I believe that way and I have my reason for that. If the school care to give a sensible and personal repl...
