Answering the vague essay topic: "Why do you want an MB

What do you think committees look for in the "Why do you want an MBA, what are your plans after graduation, and why our school will help you?" question. For me, there are several ways to approach it (I work at a school I am applying to) given my reasons: 1. It's part of my benefits package...

Thanks! Yes, the EMBA that I am applying for has only one essay, which is a personal statement. Candidates have a lot of latitude when writing this essay; but, it should be along the lines of who you are, where have you been, what you plan to do, how will this program help with those goals. I'm stru...

That was my thought about the GMAT, if I have demonstrated that much improvement they would forgive the other 2 scores. I've signed up for a course that begins in September and runs through November. I plan to take the GMAT less than a week after my final class. With EMBA the essay question is very ...

Honest Advice

I am looking to reapply to the Georgetown EMBA program for fall 2013 enrollment and I wanted to get some opinions, advice from admissions advisors, etc. I took the GMAT twice last year (450 and 450 - you know they call insanity right?) - I am going to take it for a third time, this time with a prope...

I hate to say that you were right. I wasn't accepted for the fall enrollment cycle. I will be looking to take the GMAT for the 3rd time in November. I hope any program won't hold that against me (I'm sure they won't if I go from 450/450/700+).

It was a $700 lesson learned!

I realize that this post is almost a year old, but I am loving the success story! I have been diagnosed for almost 2 years and I feel like I am just now hitting a good groove. My problem is that I've taken the GMAT twice, got the same score each time (450, ugh), and was rejected for fall enrollment....

Just because you work there...

After taking the GMAT for the 2nd time (and getting the same score - 450 ), I had a hunch that I wouldn't be accepted to the program for the fall. I was correct! I wasn't looking for any favors, I am actually relieved. I have a lot going on this coming year between work (we're moving our schoo...

Decent GPA +Miserably Low GMAT = EMBA Success?

I don't want to sound cynical, or come across as entitled, but how does a GMAT score equate to EMBA success? I graduated with a BS in Business Admin/International Business and have had a solid track record of success since. I applied for an EMBA program, and now have taken the GMAT (both old, and ne...
