does GMATPrep not offer explanations?
I took a CAT from GMATPrep this weekend.. I went to review my answers and could not find any "explanations" for the correct answers.
Does GMATPrep not give you explanations?
I only see "correct" answer and answer "you chose" etc.

I took the GMATPrep Cat exam this morning. I took it in the library on my laptop, but since there was no outlet near by I did not plug-in the power adaptor of my laptop. My laptop SHUT DOWN on question #35 on the verbal section!!! I ran home to find an outlet, plugged in my computer, and *whew* foun...

PR & Kaplan - how serious should i cover these?
The past couple of weeks I have been studying GMAT concepts and going over GMAT practice problems in both PR and Kaplan. I've spent a day or two on each chapter just reading through the material, refreshing my memory on the various math and verbal topics, and giving the problems a shot. I've pretty ...

It's basically just keeping track of your percentage correct. Let's say you do a set of 40 questions for the night at medium difficulty. If you missed 4 then you achieved a 90% hit rate. That's it. I just did that for every session. As you progress you can also keep cumulative hit rates - percentag...

There are two methods of tracking your errors. The first and most common is to use the grid found on this forum. It helps you create a detailed breakdown of your weaknesses. The other is to just keep track of your basic hit rates. The latter is what I did during my practice. Why? Because, to me, it...

Using a practice grid to analyze your practice sets and practice tests is really smart. A lot of successful self studiers emphasize lots of analysis for their errors after going through practice. You can get a GRID from this site, http://del.icio.us/beatthegmat Good luck! Ah! Thanks so much, Eric

Grid for practice CAT exam?
Hello - I wrote about my first CAT practice exam experience earlier (see below). Right now, I'm attempting to correct/analyze the exam. I have a question: can/should I use a grid to go through my errors? I know a lot of people use those for practice problems, but I'm not sure if it would be helpful...

I personally practiced in 20 minute sets - that's enough to do about 10 problems. I did this so that I could check my answers every set of 10 problems, but that was a personal preference. There are others on this forum who have espoused the practice of working 40 problems at once to really mimic th...

Re: Timing yourself
It will be too difficult to concentrate if you try to time yourself for every question. I usually time myself for 15 questions in 1 go... You should not be spending more 2 min on any question and 3 only if you are 100% sure you can solve it correctly. In the practice test see where you stand every ...

Timing yourself
Hi All I began my GMAT prep about two weeks ago. I started with the Princeton Review book. I read it cover to cover, studied/refreshed the concepts, and worked out all the problems - However, I did not time myself while working out the problems. I'm starting the Kaplan book now and I would like to b...
