Let us assume that the maximum number of books borrowed is by a student (from group 4: 6 students)is X:

Hence: (2*0+12*1+10*2+((6*3)+X))/30 = 2 (AVERAGE)

X=10:

Hence maximum books a person can borrow: 3 +10 = 13

Option D

Both the statements are insufficient: 1. If X is even, it can be divided by 2, hence its not a prime number. 2. Think about 8, it cannot be divided by an odd number, but is not a prime number.Think about 10, it can be divided by an odd number, but it is not a prime number. Hence, no conclusion can b...

Per my understanding: since the 2 lines are paralllel, the gradient/ slope of the 2 lines need to be same. Linear line equation: y=Mx+b From statement 1: line M: y=mx (since the line crosses the origin), but it gives no idea about the 2nd line.and horizontal distance between the 2 lines is 5 From st...

My understanding of how the problem can be solved:

Let x be the variable we need to calculate. Principal after 1st year= 1.1x
For 2nd year return = 1.1x (1+5/100)^1

Now, the return is 6430 + 500 ( deducted for early redemption)

Hence: 1.1x(1+5/100)^1=6930

x= $ 6000

Hi, My understanding is that the total shares outstanding at the end of the year is 10,000,000 (increase of 5,000,000). Hence the outstanding shares at the end of the year is 10,000,000. EPS= Earning/ total average outstanding shares. Hence: 48.5 million/ 10 million. Hope this takes care of the conf...

In the GMAT exam, all figures are drawn to scale, unless specified otherwise, hence if a figure looks like a sqaure more than 99% of the time, it is a square.
