is it possible to solve this by picking numbers? Let's give it a shot! Let's keep it simple with x = 2 From the original equation, we get 9 When replacing 2 with 1/2, we get [(3/2)/(-1/2)]^2 = 9 Obviously A works :) B is the recipcrocal of A -> 1/9 C gives (5/4)/(3/4) = 5/3 D gives (-3/4)/(5/4) = -...

Sorry to bring back an old thread but Ive tried looking this up and I am just not understanding. I guess my first question is where are we getting point F from? Secondly, When i draw an equilateral triangle to answer the question, I place point X which turns Triangle ABX into an 30-60-90 triangle. C...

Can an instructor chyme in on this? I cannot understand anyone's answer explanation. I think B is sufficient bc it gives the price and tax rate of both and says that one is greater than the other. I read the question the same way! The book says "Is the Total Cost of the computer greater in Sta...

Can you go into further detail about (a+b)(a-b)=9? I'm under the impression that when we factor an equation we can set them to zero to find the answer... Ex: x (x^2 + 7x + 6) = 0 -> x (x+1) (x+6) = 0 --> Therefore we can set each variable factor = 0 x=0 ; x+1=0 ; x+6=0 Why does method not work for t...

Help Kaplan 800
What is the value of a - b? 1) a^2 - b^2 = 9 2) a^2 - 2ab + b^2 = 1 I am really stumped and the book explanation isn't helping me at all. Going off of #1 a^2 - b^2 = 9 --> (a-b)(a+b)=9 Therefore: can't we take (a-b) = 9?? or is my factoring just really off tonight?? thank you for your help. OA = E

If the value of the decimal rounded to the nearest tenth is less than 2.5, what are the possible values of d? Answer= 0,1,2,3,4 I am under the impression that that the '7'...
