hi ,
In the following sentences.
1) She thought the puppy was cute.
2) She thought THAT the puppy was cute.
Can someone please point out when/why we use 'THAT' in such sentences?

difference between 'was changed' and 'had changed'
Hi,
There are 2 sentenced below
1) After the test format WAS changed, scores dropped by more than 25%.
2) After the test format HAD changed, scores dropped by more than 25%.
Both sentences seem grammatically right. Could someone explain the difference in meaning ?

Answer should be D
It has the phrase 'of using' which is parallel with 'of having' in the question
E has the same parallel phrase ' of using' but wrong because the phrase 'as they obtained' is meaningless .
