Thank you for the kind input! I did exactly what the both of you mentioned and I felt more at ease. With my GMAT just days away I'm starting to feel some pressure. I know there are a lot of topics on anxiety and pressure so I'll try to keep it short. The 1st time I took the GMAT I felt absolutely no...

Not in the mood to study. Possible Burnout?
Hello folks, I have a re-take planned in exactly 2 weeks. My 1st GMAT write was mid-February. I took 2 weeks off then went full-force into studying. In the beginning of March I enrolled in 2 prep programs. Since then I've been going pretty hard - putting forth about 2-3 hours a night and about 3-4 h...

" A screwdriver and hammer currently have the same price . If the price of the screwdriver rises by 5% and the hammer rises by 3% how much more will it cost to buy 3 screwdrivers and 3 hammers." This is what I did: Currently: SD = H SD = $100 H = $100 Total Current Price = SD(3) + H(3) Tot...

GMAT Appointment Time
I'm about to sign up for my next writing of the GMAT in April. I'm taking 2 Prep courses which finish the 1st week of April. I understand and acknowledge that it's good to take the exam right after finishing any courses or during your peak ability level. When I went to sign up I noticed that the onl...

Re-taking GMAT - Shift in tide
Greetings to all! Quick background info: Just wanted to "wing-it" and take the GMAT to have proof. The few, small, local schools I was looking into just wanted proof...as long as the GMAT score was between 400-450. My primary purpose was to attend one of these smaller, lesser known program...

Took the Knewton CAT yesterday evening. I was pretty disappointed to say the least. The Quant section was giving me problems right from the start. The 1st question dealt with radicals (which I need to work on) -- I narrowed it down to 2 choices -- then had to guess since I spent 3min on it. The next...

I took a practice Quant section from 800score.com. From what I've read around here, 800score isn't really that indicative of your real GMAT score. I had some thoughts on their practice section... 1 - It was unusually easier than any Quant section I've taken before. It seemed like the questions never...

Thanks for the advice! It's been a while since I posted. Anyway, I'm set to take the GMAT on the 23rd. In the past I always did well when it came to testing. I had to take state exams at exam sites for my company a couple years ago. My boss would sponsor me and fork up about $400-$500 for my 4 exams...

Advising Prior to Applying? Good idea?
Good afternoon BTGM! I'm in the process of applying and am weeks away from taking the GMAT. I had some general questions to ask regarding my undergraduate transcript/record and how it pertains to this one program in which I am applying. What I did was setup an appointment with an adviser to go over ...

Good afternoon and TGIF to all! I figured I would do a little update for myself. I decided to go back to the basics and ensure that I tackle all the Quant concepts. Currently, I'm using the OG and taking notes and solving practice problems. Since Monday I have been working on different topics (fract...

Did some reviewing last night and earlier today. Spent about 1hr last night doing DS problems. I reviewed the ones I missed to see where I went wrong. It seems like a couple of the ones I missed were careless errors; mainly from not reading the question correctly or mistyping numbers into my calcula...

Just about 50 days until GMAT
Hello to all! I see that everyone is very helpful and gives good insight. I plan on taking the exam in January. It was pushed back because I felt I was not ready to take it. The "safety" school that I am applying to only asks for a reported score, no guidelines or minimum score. Just a sco...

Found though that a lot of time and energy is saved by not looking at the clock every other question. If looking at remaining time takes 1.5 seconds each ( also add the loss of focus even is momentary) then for 41 questions, it could mean more than a minute lost. As I was taking book practice and O...

Thanks again for the response. The schools ask for 1 professor recommendation at the very least. So, it looks like I have to ask one from my Uni where I did undergrad. My best friend's father was my supervisor during my summer job back at home. He knows me very, very well and offered to do anything ...
