From a 34q to 42q--I beat my GMAT!

Hi Everyone! I decided to share my story for those of you who aren't aiming for a 700+. About me: I'm almost 27, female, born in the USA (native english speaking), have been out of school going on 4 years, with an undergrad from VCU in Fashion Merchandising. I literally have not taken any of this ma...

Question for those encountering this - where did you take your test? I'm just curious if this is system-wide (in which case, I'd think there would be more discussion of it). Mine was in Toronto. I'm in Atlanta, so it must not be a local issue. Thanks for the update, please post here when you get yo...

First off, I have the GMAT scheduled for 20 Feb. of this year. My primary concern is the timing of the verbal section on my practice CAT's. I have found that, through four CAT's, I am completing the section with a minimum of fifteen minutes to spare. I left thirty minutes on the board in my most re...

I'm having the exact same issue. I wrote the test on January 18th. Yesterday I got an email saying that my score had been reported, but only to two of the five schools I'd requested. No URL to enter the access code so that I could see my AWA score. Today, another email which said that my official s...

I too am a working professional. Here is what I have been doing: - during the week, I get up an hour earlier and study for an hour before work--usually just doing practice problems. I do this because I have a hard time concentrating at night, plus I took my GMAT at an early morning appointment, so t...

Thank you! I'm at work and can't remember the EXACT Q and V scores, but I was around the 35 percentile in Quant and 81 percentile in Verbal. My program emphasizes strong quant performance which is why I want to retake. I actually am a pretty good test taker so anxiety plays a very small role I feel....

My timing issues were a signal for sure that I was not ready for the quant section. I ended up not having issues with timing on test day--however I achieved this by guessing and moving on when i got to a harder level question, and more score definitely reflected. My total score was a 590--while may ...

That's awesome!! Definitely encouraging, I really like the part how you said, "for those of you out there that did poorly on your first attempt remember that it's not a failure, it's a second chance to do better than you ever could have on the first." I bombed the first time around, floor...

Thanks everyone!!! I managed to improve my timing. The test I took yesterday at first was a MGMAT practice test. I analyzed the results--of all the questions i spent over 4 minutes on--I got every single one wrong and every single one was a 700-800 level question. This helped me justify being able t...

I just got my lowest score ever on this practice test!!! I got killed with timing---had to guess on the last 10 questions and got all of them wrong. Any suggestions on improving this in the next couple of days? Looking at the questions I spent the most time on, they were 700-800 level--and I ended u...
