I would start by writing sentences with proper grammar and punctuation. Even if it's just posting quick blurbs on forums like these. On a side note, try using flash cards for identifying pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, subject & verb agreement, among other GMAT tested aspects. Verbal is difficu...

Is GMAT 800 Kaplan decent difficulty?
I'm reading/practicing the Kaplan, GMAT 800 book currently. Just curious to see if anyone in the past has practiced the book and how it compares to real GMAT questions. Honestly, I've read all the MG quant books so far, did all the GMAC questions, I have the 1012 princeton review questions, and so f...

Undefined equation question.
I wasn't sure about this, but when you have a 0 in the numerator or in the denominator is the equation undefined?
I thought 1/0 was undefined while 0/1 is just 0.
As well, if you have something like x/ (0-2) is it undefined or would it then just be simplified to x / (-2) ?
Thanks,
Dave

Imaginary number and roots
I came across this in the manhattan guide, (sqrt(x^2 - 2)) - (sqrt(x)) = 0 When you solve it, you get two roots, x = -1 and x = 2 However the answer is only 2 because if you sub in -1 into the equation it will be an imaginary number. If the GMAT posed this type of question, asking for the roots, wou...

Free GMAT Prep tests.
Hey guys, I was wondering whether there are free prep tests for the GMAT. I've heard a few people talking about getting a few from GMAC. The only test resource I have atm is the GMAC program with 2 free sample tests. If there are anymore on the web or in books I'd appreciate a link to either. Thanks...

Thanks for the answer, however I just don't understand the first step. I understand how you simplified the subsequent parts, but if you could explain in another way why you divided each side by three and how you got from that to the 2nd step that would be great.

Problem Solving - Roots question
I didn't understand the answer to this question. Hopefully one of you GMAT wizards can give me clarity on it. Roots are kind of hard to illustrate on boards so I used arrows to space it. 3sqrt(3) -->4sqrt(3) ________ X ________ sqrt(2) --->3 A) 3 B) 6sqrt(2) C) 12 D) 12sqrt(2) E) 36 [spoiler]ANSWER ...

Wuddup fellow GMAT'ers.
Just started studying for the GMAT, and thought it would be a good idea to get on this forum and participate in any questions/answers/strategies and all that jazz. Currently reading Manhattan guide + GMAC 2011 edition + Princeton review, enjoying all of them atm. I've got a background in Accounting ...
