Hey, 1. If 0<r<1 then; r-1 is negative r^n1 is also negative as for 0<r<1, r^n<r This means t is positive 2. If r<-1 r-1 will be negative r^n-1 can be positive or negative depending on n (even or odd) This means t can either be negative or positive Thus conclusively nothing can be said about t's sig...

If you ever see an equation with degree greater than 2, your first action should be hit and trial use common values of x like -2,-1,0,1,2. Most of the times one of these values will give you a solution, after that you can factorize the equation till it reduces to a quadratic and then solve it. In th...

Let one non-hypotenuse side of the triangle be 'a' Second non-hypotenuse side is also 'a' (isoceles) Hypotenuse= sqrt(a^2+a^2)=a*sqrt(2) Perimeter=2a+a*sqrt(2)........................................(1) which in question is given as 16+16/sqrt(2) This can also be written as 16 + 16*sqrt(2)/2=16+8*sq...

Simply break down the 10=2*5 on the right hand side; You'll get the power of 1/5 as 35 on the Right side Oh the left side the power of 1/5 is m As both should be equal m=35 The use of reciprocals can make the question confusing, if you are not comfortable with reciprocals, you can write: (1/5)^m as ...

Heres a simple solution;
Let a^2+b^2=x adding this with a^2-b^2=30 we get

2a^2=30+x
a=(30+x/2)^0.5
b=(x-30/2)^0.5

substituting these in ab=10

and squaring both sides

(x+30)(x-30)=4*100

x^2-900=400

x=a^2+b^2=(1300)^0.5 = 36.055

Hope that helps!
