Given: Profit = 20% of Cost
Selling Price = 600
Let Cost = C
Since Profit= (Selling price) - (Cost)
We have 0.2C = 600 - C
=> 1.2C = 600
=> C = 600/1.2
= 500
Answer: $500

yeah that's what I am confused about.. Option A sounds pretty weird to me and haven't seen anything like this before.. But since all other options are incorrect 'cause of obvious comparison logic, that's why we're only left with option A..
