Hi, e1 - no.of students registered for exactly one class e2 - no.of students registered for exactly two classes e3 - no.of students registered for exactly three classes e1+e2+e3 = 68 e1+2e2+3e3 = 25+25+34=84 So, e2+2e3 = 16 but, e3 = 3. So, e2 = 10 Would like to know how did we arrive at e1+2e2+3e3...

circumference = 2*pi*r = d * pi --- 1
As ABC is Equilateral triangle, it cuts circle into equal parts.
ab = bc = ac --- 2
ab + bc = 24; --- 3
from 2 and 3.
ab = bc = ac =12.
circumference = ab + bc +ac = 36
from 1
36 = pi *d
d = 36 * 7 /22
d ~ = 11

As Frankenstien said go till equations.. ie P is the total amount of work, 4m + 3w work for 6 days to make P amount of work 5m + 7w work for 4 days to make P amount of work.. for one day they will do P/(no of days) amount of work.. 4m + 3w = P/6 5m + 7w = P/4 cant i solve for m and w with respect to...

Hi, Let P be the total amount of work required to finish the job. Assuming all men are equally efficient with work rate 'm' and all women are equally efficient with work rate 'w'. we get 4m + 3w = P/6 ->eqn(1) 5m + 7w = P/4 ->eqn(2) Multiplying eqn(1) by 2 and adding to it eqn(2), we get 13m+13w=7P...
