rishijhawar: It is important to understand that DS question checks the feasibility of finding an answer. Calculating the 6th root of 25 would be time consuming to say the least. I don't expect such a question in problem solving.
P.S.: You posted r^(n-1)=50. It should be 25.

Assume constant rate as r. The populations of that week can be written as:
200, 200r, 200*(r^2), ...,200*(r^6)
We know that the population on the 7th day of the week = 5000 = 200*(r^6)
From this, you'll be able to find r. So, (1) is sufficient.

*Is X and integer? (1)X^3 is an integer (2)3X is an integer Consider statement (1): Let X^3=1, then X=1 => X is an integer. Let X^3=2, then X=2^(1/3) => X is not an integer. Hence, statement (1) is not sufficient. Consider statement (2): Let 3X=3, then X=1 => X is an integer. Let 3X=2, then X=2/3 =...

Assume, time for which Ram travels at 20mph is 'x'. Since, total time taken is 8 hours, he travels the remaining time i.e. (8-x) hours at 70mph. So, we get the equation:
400 = 20*x + (8-x)*70
x=3.2 hours

Assume each lap is 'x' miles long. Time taken by Simon to complete 1 lap = x/60 Distance covered by Tim in this time = (x/60)*65= 13x/12 So, Tim is ahead of Simon by a distance = (13x/12) - x = x/12 ; which means that which each lap that Simon covers Tim will be ahead of him by 1/12th of a lap. So, ...
