Hey Guys, This is just one man's opinion, but respectfully... I think any time you spend on filing a complaint about a flawed algorithm, or IR questions, or anything at all, is time completely wasted that could be better spent preparing for a re-take, or crafting a stronger application. If you took ...

Back-Up Schools & Profile Evaluation?

Hi All, Posted my profile on here a few months back and got some great feedback. Have made a few updates with my actual GMAT score, and just wondered if anyone had some good ideas for potential backup schools in case things don't go as planned. I am targeting Harvard, Chicago, and Stanford R1. I am ...

Essay Exchange?

Hey Guys,

Wondered if anyone knew of any forum for potential applicants to exchange essays and provide feedback? I assume this is allowed so long as significant changes aren't made? Didn't see a portion of this board so wasn't sure how it was viewed here.

I think it came down to three things: 1) I actually made the foolish mistake of not getting the official guide prior to doing the test for the first time. Spend the money and get it, and do every question. It's a great resource and the questions are closest to what you'll actually find. 2) Really dr...

In the prep work my biggest help came from really drilling down on the sentence correction. I was getting most of the CR/RC questions right, but generally fewer than half of the sentence correction. I think a lot of it's just practice. Reading them out loud and seeing if they sound right. My other i...

740!!! Increase from 660 - I did it!

Hey Guys, Some great resources on here, I really appreciate everyone's help. I did the GMAT two months ago and basically flunked the Quant (39 Quant, 47 Verbal), for a score of 660. Went back, did every single problem in the Official Guide, did about 1/2 of the 198 problems posted on here, and spent...

Are References Contacted?

Hi All, Simple question, not planning anything nefarious here - one of my references may be in Africa for most of the fall and may not be able to reply to e-mails or phone calls in a timely fashion. Can I use this person as a reference or find someone else? I would imagine contacting 3,000+ referenc...

I got 47 on the Manhattan Quant initially so I'm not entirely sure what went wrong... I'll review the 12th edition again. Thanks for your suggestion.

Weird Test Result! 660 - Verbal 44, Quant 37 - Retake?

Hey Guys, I am pretty sure I know what the answer will be here but I wondered if anyone thought otherwise. Took the test today and got a whopping 44 Verbal (97 percentile), but only 37 Quant (48 percentile) - this is the opposite of what usually happens for me. Crazy! I've always been a huge "n...

Achievements Question - General vs. Specific

Hi All, Just doing some early work on admissions essays and figured this question might apply to more than one person! I wondered about being general vs. specific on my "achievements" - do I narrow it down to one really good story, or is it worth mentioning multiple events that contributed...
