@GMATGuruNY,

I beg to differ. For those who don't even understand the question (like me!) Your explanation doesn't help at all. What if the testmakers purposely threw in the 5 to confuse those who don't know what to do? I'll appreciate if you could give a more detailed explanation. Thank you!

Hello Brent. I attended the QS MBA fair yesterday and a representative from the GMAC was present. I don't know how helpful this will be for people out there, since it's so close, but here goes- the rep. said that the GMAT is changing on June 4 . That will be a Monday. I say this because I've come ac...

I didn't beat the GMAT, but I sparred with it for a 620!

Hi guys. Just wanted to let you know that I took the GMAT test for the first time, this Monday and I scored a 620. The preparation for the test was really tough and quant. was a MAJOR challenge. I've always been art-focused and did everything I could to avoid math when I was younger (I studied law a...

Thanks Brent!

I understand it much better with the breakdown, but I'm still going to have to go over it with a fine tooth comb to fully internalise and understand it. Thanks very much!

I thought I understood permutation and combination, Brent, but you just lost me with this! Could you please explain it again, step by step? I tried to work it with the slot method and with the anagram table method, even with the nPr method, and I was still nowhere near 32. I sorta understand how you...

Hi Touseef.

Thank you for replying, :)! I read your explanation again and again, and it still wasn't very clear, so I went back and hit the books. I think I understand it a bit better now, but any other concise, perhaps very basic explanation is still welcome. Thanks again.

Hi. I've been studying the quant. topics for a while now, but I find I keep getting thrown off course by questions that state- if x is half of y, and y is three-quarters of z, what is x in terms of z??? . Can someone please explain what that phrase means- what is 'x' in terms of 'y'. I don't clearly...

Not finished the guide, but getting there!!!

Hi Brent! Thanks for the upbeat and encouraging quotes that accompany every daily study guide. I wish I could tell you that I had completed the 60 day guide. Unfortunately I have not. I've fallen behind. I was ill with malaria for 2 weeks (I live in Nigeria so it's not such a big deal) and only just...

I thought I would receive alerts in my email box whenever anyone replied to my post, and since none came, I simply assumed the question wasn't answered. Will have to improve on checking BTG more regularly, :D. Thanks again everyone. Off to study and u...

Congratulations Omerta! What you've just done is cleared a whole lot of hassles out of your way. Now that you have your GMAT score (and an impressive one at that!), and still being a student, I think you have plenty of time to decide on what you really (really) want to do career-wise and how best to...
