I agree...Samir great explanation...I got it!! Suyog, Don't we arrange the numbers in increasing order before calculating the median. If so, then how does 130K come after 150K? The reason why i thought III is correct is that - 130K is the median ; i thought half of the values would be above 130K and...

Another approach - two machines together produce 5/4 w widgets in 3 days or 5w in 12 days or 1w in 2.4 days. So, x and y's one day's work = 1/2.4 If you look at the qu. and plug-in the values - lets say, it takes x 6 days to produce w, so it will take y 4 days. X takes 2 days longer to produce w wid...

Thanks...i guess i didn't apply the basics and made it seem more complicated.
So it is 26+26^2+26^3. On that a minor suggestion...I know you would have thought of it...still...
last digit would be 6+6+6=18
The only choice with 8 at the end is E. So without calculations we can say it is E.

Sequence - gmatprep
For a finite sequence of non-zero numbers, the number of variations in sign is defined as the number of pairs of consecutive terms of the sequence for which the product of the two consecutive terms is negative. What is the number of variations in sign for the sequence 1,-3,2,5,-4,-6 A. One B. Two C....

Here goes...
solutions of the equation 4x^2 + 5x + 1 = 0 are -1/4 and -1
AM = (-1/4+-1)/2 = -5/8
GM = (-1/4*-1)^1/2 = 1/2
HM (in case of two nos.) = 2a*b/(a+b)
HM = (2*-1/4*-1)/(-1/4+-1) = -2/5

Absolutely...the other way to look at any slip-ups is that they would happen only to the experimental questions, so won't be marked!!
But you give great explanations...i was just trying to be a pain;)

Line K passes through point (n,-1). Is slope of K positive? 1). K passes through the origin point. slope = 0- (-1)/ 0-n = -1/n can be +ve or -ve based upon n ................ n=-1 so slope =-1/n =1/2 yes +ve SUFF C Thanks a lot...!! A minor slip-up though... slope=1 +ve... [-1/-1] if this was a PS ...
