A bit of additional information: I have attached the resume that I used to secure my most recent position. As I have just finished taking my GMAT, it is not updated to reflect the last 2 years of my career. Bullet points are as follows: Currently employed in what amounts to an accelerated management...

I apologize for the length, but I felt it appropriate. My target school is Tuck (Early Action). I grew up in a single parent household in Philadelphia and attended three high schools. The first was closed after a riot during my freshman year. The second had metal detectors and x-ray machines for our...

Shane - Since you are looking for something tougher on CR and RC have you ever thought to use LSAT questions? If you are out of materials it can be a good way to go. I would say that about 1/3 of the questions on the CR board on Beat The GMAT are LSAT questions! Have you read my article on using LS...

Shane, Did you feel that the real test was way more difficult than what you were practicing? I have mine Friday and I got a 720 on GMATPREP this Saturday and for the first time I broke V40. Previously I was stuck around the 30- 35 mark. Is it a stamina issue? Are you seeing reoccurring problems on ...

Need some help guys.. just took my first practice exam since the real deal and 740'ed again (Q51, V42). I had 8 minutes left for quant, and 20+ for verbal. I was also out late drinking and felt foggy.. yet I still pulled this score. I still have 25 days until I can sit for the exam, but I feel ready...

Real Exam Results: Q: 47, V:35, Total: 660 Had to piss from V30 onwards. Started the test with SEVEN (7)! sentence correction in a row. Knew my V score might be an issue, but never suspected a 35. Now, I need some help. If I remember correctly, I can not sit for the GMAT for another 4 weeks. I belie...

I agree about the AWA and IR. I didn't let either stress me out. I finished the essay in 20 min and used the extra time as an unplanned restroom break. I sat for the IR and once I hit "frustrated", dotted some random radio buttons and moved on. It actually gave me a chance to stretch my br...

You know -- you're not the first student who's ever asked the "have I gone too deep into this?" Obviously, I can't comment specifically on your particular experience here, but, it does remind me of advice that I give to my students before they sit for the 'real' exam. Essentially, I tell ...

Update: Veritas #5: 38Q 46V - Total 690 Blew the quant and smoked the verbal this time around.. interesting, since I've done nothing but study quant after I finished the CR section of OG13. Had 15 minutes left on my V section (slowed down a LOT, thanks for the "actually, your pacing sucks"...

Shane: Are those numbers for ALL of verbal in OG 13? If so -- wow.. you have been a busy dude! It would certainly appear that SC is 'weaker' than the other two areas -- but also need to ask obviously about how diligently you timed yourself, etc. The thing that's great about practice exams is that t...

Just finished verbal in OG 13. CR - 88% Correct RC - 86% Correct SC - 72% Correct More "by the number" evidence to suggest SC is my weakest link. Thought: These numbers are put together when I'm focused on a specific question type for that day. It's possible that my CR skills falter more s...

Edit: Sorry, there's a bit much in this post.. but once last question- is a Q45 good enough for Kellogg? I'm more into strategy than the finance end of things.. should I just spend the next 3 weeks polishing my quant? I'm afraid 70th percentile isn't acceptable. I do not intend on doing my MBA with...

Wow so 680 and 690 scores were pretty close to your GMATPrep scores. Thanks for letting us know about this interesting result. We are developing new practice tests even now and I am sure that this will not be a problem with the new algorithm. Thanks! I triple-checked. Those raw scores are correct. ...

David brings up a really important point here -- and one I should have caught earlier. Can you run your analysis across multiple exams? One exam is a valuable, but small sample size. Thanks. -Brian I can run the analysis across multiple exams. However, those exams were taken prior to studying SC/RC...
