Hi everyone, Quick question about the use of "them" in D. Is it considered to be clearly referring to "challenges"? That's my interpretation of how the use of "them" can be justified in this case. Otherwise I have a tendency to avoid answer options with "them"...

Hi Thrills4ever, Thanks for clarifying. Much clearer now, and since order doesn't matter, we divide by "slots!". About the other question:- using the slots method, it would mean (8*7*6)/3! = 56. Same result can be seen when we work out the formula 8C3. Am I right this time? Anurag, your me...

Gurpreet, The best way to tackle combination questions is first..forget the formula! Okay, here's my way and I really think its fast and makes sense. You were absolutely correct with your approach in that you have 8 for the first 6 for the second and 4 for the third because you can't repeat people ...

Hi Brent, For independent clauses, they can be connected by semi-colon as seen here. However, can they also be connected by conjunctions such as ", and" or ", but" (depending on usage of course)? Thanks in advance for your clarification. Cheers, Gurpreet Yes, we can also connect...

Hi everyone, Not convinced why "C" is the answer here. I actually picked "A", but according to the explanation in the attached picture it is the "passive voice" which the GMAT apparently does not favor. Using that logic, option "C" is picked. However, option &...

Hi Sam,
So because we take X as negative, if we get a negative answer that would be -X. Wow, didn't see that angle coming. Thanks for your advise!

Positive integers P and Q
Good day all, Would like to hear how you approach this question. Frankly quite stumped at this question. Attempted solving this by algebra, and deduced (thru Statement 2) that p-q is less than 0, and Statement 1 tells us that the difference between q from p is greater than n. However, we don't know ...

Sqroot problem in GMATPrep2
Good day, Spotted this qn in the GMATPrep2 Quiz. Any idea why the answer is not (C)? If X is negative, -X should be positive X, and the absolute X would be positive X. Hence when multiplied together we should get X^2, and square root of this is X. Does anyone know why the answer sheet says it's -X (...

Knewton Link not working
Good day,
In day 52 of the 60 day GMAT Study Guide, we are supposed to access the Knewton Practice CAT. However, I clicked on the link and it seems that Knewton is not offering their free GMAT any longer. Is there an alternative test/link that we could use?
Appreciate your help, thanks.
