What I don't understand is if you plug in different numbers for statement 2 you do not get the same remainder with different numbers if you plug the numbers in the stem. If X and Y are nonzero intergers what is the remainder when X is divided by Y? 1. When X is divided by 2Y the remainder is 4 2. When X+ Y is divided by Y the remainder is 4 The answer is B but I don't understand how it can be the answer . I picked E Can somebody elaborate on this question. thanks

I see I see what D is saying is that there are fewer fiction books but we can't compare that with nonfiction books because there can be more fiction books than non fiction.
But then isn't B and E saying the same thing

I don't understand how you can infer E (Household with high education level generally own more nonfiction books than do household with low education) when the stem does not mention anything about household with low education.

Oh I see. When I read E I was confused. I thought the answer said the dam had another river full of sediments that does not affect the river below the dam. Thanks for the clarification.
