Private Tutoring in the Last Month of Studying?
I have a few questions regarding tutors and how they might benefit someone in their last month of GMAT preparation. I have been studying independently and rigorously for the past several months using: -Kaplan online -OG 11, OG Quant and Verbal review -Various MGMAT books including SC I feel that I h...

Great thread!
Question on your last thread, A/B = B/C. In your last generalization example i notice you have 4 variables, A/B, B/C and C/D to represent A:B:C. What role does D play. I don't see it in your stimulus.
thanks

Yes, very useful. Thanks.
How about determining, among a selection of fractions, which would have the longest sequence of differenent decimal digits? Is there a shortcut or trick?
Simple example would be:
2/11
1/3
41/99
2/3
23/37
I understand that one could immediatly rule out a couple of these.

Factions or %s of People. When to round up or down?
Does anyone know if there is a hard fast rule for computing fractions or %s of people (or anything that can only exist as a whole)? For example, Q72 in OG11 Section 5.3. We are told to find 1/3 of 40 committee members, which is 13 1/3. I assumed that since it is not possible to have 1/3 of a person,...

Stacey, you are absolutly correct. There is no reason for my flagrent use of time. Would you suggest, on my up coming CATs, that I try to recoginze early on when i have a deficiency in a certain problem and much much earlier (maybe 1 min into it) spend time strategiclly/spatially thinking about the ...

hmm...Pride, don't know her. Actually, I am very familiar with this pride concept, although I hadn't identified as such. Something i really need to work on, just after i pay off the IT guy at the testing center. What I have consistently noticed on the several CATs i've completed is that I spend 5-6 ...

Very good point, i agree with your reasoning. Given that timing is a large part of what is tested, a problem wrong due to concept or a problem wrong due to timing, is still a problem which must be fixed. No delaying the inevitable.
Thanks for the encouragement. On to OG11 i go.

When to Time and when not to Time?
First of all, i would like to thank the creator of this site. It is the cats meow! I'm on the fence as to what strategy i should take going forward. I just finished Kaplan's online course and still have some weaknesses. Go figure. SC and CR are my weakest areas. Additionally, i am having a lot of tr...
