Amy:

Thanks a lot for the feedback. There was a typo on my previous post. My score is lower on the verbal (30) and not on the quant(50). I plan to take the GMAT again as there's a big disparity in the verbal and quant scores.

thanks again.

I was pretty confident on the first few questions, but did guess after the 10-12th question especially on SCs. I somehow kept thinking I've messed up the quant and lost focus. I guess that's where I made most of my mistakes. I definitely need to look at CRs and SCs again. The biggest problem is that...

Camitava: Thanks for the response. My real confusion is regarding parallel elements. Take a look at this sentence Bihar is India's poorest state, with an annual per-capita income of $111, lower than in the most impoverished countries in the world a) lower than in b) lower than that of c) and lower t...

Even I am confused how the two elements are parallel. Its numbers now are five times greater than in the 1980s. Another example A) Small cars today are more fuel-efficient than in the 1980s. B) Small cars today are more fuel-efficient than those in the 1980s. I think (B) is better because 'small car...

coordinating conjunctions

Coordinating conjunctions (and, for, or, but, nor, yet, so) join two independent clauses. Is it okay to omit the subject in the second clause? Take a look at this sentence. The category 1 to 5 rating known as the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale provides an estimate of a hurricane’s potential to destr...

TKNeo: Thanks for the reply. Sometimes I think the correct answer is actually finding the assumption. Assumptions are usually unstated in the question. Take a look at this one. Question 7 The local high school students have been clamoring for the freedom to design their own curricula. Allowing this ...

supporting the conclusions vs assumptions

There are examples I've seen that the correct answer for strengthening the assumption is eliminating a cause and effect or alternate paths for the same effect. Now this is also true for questions where we're asked to find the assumptions (MGMAT). Am I missing something in the questions or is this tr...

i think it should be (d).
the first integer can have a maximum value of median which is 25. Range is
also 25. So max value is 50.

Thanks Danielle. If I remember correctly (i dont have the OG at work :-)), the explanation for one of the question said that we need 'that' after the verb. I might have misread something, so I need to recheck. Check out this link which mentions something on 'that', 'to+infinitive'. http://www.edufin...
