1. b>a values i picked a b 2 3 -3 -2 i found that for any vlaue of a and b when b>a, | a| - |b| turned out to be <= |a-b| hence sufficent similarly for 2. a> 0 a b 2 1 2 4 2 -1 2 0 again for all values of a,b, |a| - |b| turned out to be <= |a-b| heance sufficent. I would have picked D. Either statem...

DS strategy
I am always falling for this trap. in cases where statement looks like it validates statement 2. I choose C but statement two alone would have been sufficient I am thinking i will start with looking at option 2 first going forward. Most often than not the option B seems to be the sufficient one. any...

My thought process. numbers : (a) a a b or (b) b a a depending on which one is bigger 1. median = range (a) a = b - a or b = 2a therefore a,a,2a hence mode equals range (b) a = a - b or b = 0 therefore 0, a,a hence mode equals range sufficent by itself 2. the largest value is twice the smallest valu...

average
Does the avg (arith. mean) of a, b, c equal c?
1. c-a = c+b
2. c=0
my answer is 1.
book answer is 3 1 and 2 are sufficent.
my approach
from 1, a+b = 0
mean a+b+c/3 = 0+c/3
since c/3 cannot be equal to c i thought 1 is sufficent.
