I seek clarification.... as per the attachment 2^(4-1)^2 is different from (2^(4-1))^2 ...right? The answer of the latter is going to be 2^5...is it? Yes, you're correct. 2^[(4 - 1)^2] = 2^9 ...... BUT ...... [2^(4 - 1)]^2 = 2^6 In this case, we just need to watch out for the parathesis then. The p...

Hi, Can anyone elaborately explain this answer? I haven't understood the approach as none of the solution turns up true. I tried testing with x=1 and then x=2

Thanks

Although I agree with the explanation as I too was stuck between D & E..... if we were to pick an answer I would go with "D" as an answer because in my opinion "within" can be used only if you have a "time range" and foreseeable future does not define any time range...

Is this a good GMAT quality question? I would pick A too... as it is the only one related to the topic. It thus stands out. But is this a good question?

INTUITION in DS - Experts...please comment.

I have this nagging question in my mind. Sometimes we come across questions in DS that we read and understand and although we might not be able to immediately pin point the right formulae or the right approach, we know instinctively that an answer can be arrived with the given values. Why can't it be B.

C,D,E are out

A & B convey the same meaning. A's construction seems awkward. B seems more precise.
