Word count for essays (Rotman in particular)
Hey Guys,
If an essay has a word count max of 250 but I have said all I want to say in 170-200 words, will that reflect poorly on me? Is the expectation that I go to as close to the max as possible?

What I would do for this q is plug in some numbers to make life easier. So pretend a=2 and b=3, plug into each answer choice and see which works.
E: f(2+3=5)= -15 and f(2)+f(3)= -6 + (-9)= -15
So they equal each other and thus is the correct answer.

I think you might have a typo in your post...m=3m would imply something like 1=3 which is of course impossible

Medians
Two sets, A and B, have the same number of elements and the same median. Which set has the higher average? 1) In Set A, 75% of the numbers are greater than or equal to the median. In Set B, 50% of the numbers are greater than or equal to the median. -How is 1) above even possible? Isn't the definiti...

Type of references to use in application
Hey Guys, In selecting 2 references to include in my MBA application, which do you think would be best looked upon by the schools to which I am applying?: 1. 2 references from 1 company, both of whom were at the director level (i.e. my boss and sort of boss) 2. Haha thanks for the insight, David! Given this though, all other things being equal, wouldn’t righties therefore have an advantage on the exam over lefties? (I’d be interested to see a study comparing lefties scores vs righties!) Righties can right away (pun intended ;-) in whatever way they are...

Lefties using the wet-erase laminated paper in exam
So I am taking the manhattan gmat prep course and they give you a scratch pad and pen similar to those which you get for the actual exam. I tried doing some practice questions with it the other day when I realized- Because I am a lefty, if I write normally (with my writing hand on the paper as I wri...

"to make" or "in making'?
Hey Guys, In the sentence: We were dismayed to learn that our neighbours were untidy, disagreeable, and they were uninterested to make new friends. Are either of these fixes equally correct? uninterested in making or uninterested to make Or is one more correct than the other? And if so, why? Thanks!

Hey Guys,
I'm happy I wasn't the only one confused by the wording of this question! I also take "can" to mean "is there a possibility that". The answer to that of course, would be yes. (since in some cases it is possible, others, not).

What to do in addition to taking GMAT course
Hey Guys,
So I signed up for the Manhattan GMAT course but was just wondering, in addition to the course material we cover in class, what, if any, additional studying should I do?
