ABCD B on the left of C?

4! = 24
24/2 = 12

AABCD B on left of C?

5!/2! = 5*4*3 = 60

60/2 = 30

?

How do you know where it appears half of the time ?

Is it like a coin toss when we know that the chance for heads is 1/2 ans tails is 1/2 ?
