What is the tens digit of the positive integer r?

(1) The tens digit of r/10 is 3.

(2) The hundreds digit of 10r is 6.


"B" is the correct answer. How are you supposed to approach this problem?

If wx=y, what is the value of xy?

(1) w(x^2) = 16

(2) y = 4

The correct answer is (a). I believe you supposed to manipulate the first statement, but I am not exactly sure.
