The GMAT is an industry. Between the publications, the prep classes, the tutors, all the way to the ad space sold on this very website, the GMAT simply makes people money. I'm sure there are great people that really want to help others in this industry, but in the end it is still an industry. And wh...

Keep scoring in low 400s. What do I do?
It seems that I have a problem with the GMAT. In May of 2009, I took the GMAT and scored a 430 and in the low percentiles for both the verbal and the quant sections. However, I reasoned that I was not studying enough as I only put in 10 hours a week for three months, so I simply got the score that I...

I'm not an expert, but I would not recommend using this method. You probably just got lucky. In my experience, it is best to use data that is given in the question stem and then only using the diagrams to identify things like Isosceles triangles, trapezoids, angles, etc.

If 7 workers can build 7 cars in 7 days, then 7 workers must be able to build 1 car in 1 day. If 7 workers can build a car in one day, then each worker completes 1/7 of the car in that day. The rate of completion for five workers per day is 1/7+1/7+1/7+1/7+1/7=5/7. So 5 workers complete 5/7 of a car...

Write down 'Red, Green, White, Blue, Yellow' When you examine and count, you will find the Yellow always ends on 5 and 10. So from here, you can count after 10 and see where you land in the list. A: 10 is Yellow. Count six more, and end on Red (out) B: 30 is Yellow. Count two more and end on Green (...

I was trying to wrap my mind around the sequential number formula, When I realized the problem is a simple linear function, just use the slope intercept formula: y = mx + b x => n y => a n m(slope) => a n-1 (The difference between two consecutive numbers in a sequence) b(y-intercept) =>c So for the...

In my opinion, this one was kinda hard.
B and E just seem weird. A and D use present perfect by using 'has been', but that is incorrect since 'was' indicates that we are talking about the past. C is the answer since it uses past perfect.
