A The wrong usage of the word equivalent - it is used to refer to 2 quantities that are nearly similar but not exactly similar.
B Correct - concise and clear
C the number of ..... as many as the number
D as great is unidiomatic for this st
E The first part of the sentence refers to number of the students not the students themselves.
