Guys, can you please help me out with this question:

A. for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and to offer some relief to workers
B. to pass on the bulk of these costs to its employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and by offering some relief to workers
C. for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees through assigning bigger contributions for workers in top salary brackets but offering some relief to workers
D. to pass on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and offering some relief to workers
E. to pass on the bulk of this costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and by offering some relief to workers

adopting a tiered system to pass is a better construction than adopting a tiered system for passing

A. for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and to offer some relief to workers

Incorrect. by assigning bigger contributions and to offer some relief - not parallel

B. to pass on the bulk of these costs to its employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and by offering some relief to workers

Incorrect. its (singular) refers to employers (plural)

C. for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees through assigning bigger contributions for workers in top salary brackets but offering some relief to workers

Incorrect. awkward construction. through assigning....but offering

D. to pass on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and offering some relief to workers

correct. parallel structure. by assigning ..... and [by] offering ....

E. to pass on the bulk of this costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and by offering some relief to workers

incorrect. this (singular) costs (plural). Rest of the sentence structure is correct and parallel.

A. for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and to offer some relief to workers
Parallelism is not maintained

B. to pass on the bulk of these costs to its employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and by offering some relief to workers
S-V agreement error.
Employers,a plural noun, needs a plural verb.

C. for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees through assigning bigger contributions for workers in top salary brackets but offering some relief to workers
I would prefer BY ASSIGNING over THROUGH ASSIGNING.

D. to pass on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary
brackets and offering some relief to workers
Correct.

E. to pass on the bulk of this costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and by offering some relief to workers
A singular pronoun is used for plural costs.

Please post the OA.
Thanks!

I would go with D bec of parallelism.................

A and C misses parallelism.
B uses its instead of their, subject over here is employer's
E uses this for costs which is wrong.........

Wats the OA?

Ok the question displays a clear 2/3 split. Between "For" and "To" . So if we idiomise the choice Adapt -TO is politically correct . Options A and C tossed off.

B D E remain.

Step -2 Just considering the parallelism part we shall be able to knock off 2 remaining options.

B : to pass.......X by A and by B .... in such a structure. We don't need a redundant "by" or supporting words like that in creating a structure parallel to A. - Knocked out.
A and B are parallel in formation as both are verb patterns here. So ||sm maintained in A and B.

D:to pass....X by A and B. this seems to be fine. checking the ||sm betwn A and B. - Again A(action in same tense) and B (Action in same Tense) - > Powerful contender for the choice.

E : Repeats the same redundancy as B so we no need to check for ||sm further.

Hence D Stands the most powerful contender !

A. for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and to offer some relief to workers assigning and offer not parallel. Thus, out.
B. to pass on the bulk of these costs to its employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and by offering some relief to workers pronoun 'its' is improper for employers.
C. for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees through assigning bigger contributions for workers in top salary brackets but offering some relief to workers through assigning is awkward.
D. to pass on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and offering some relief to workers these corresponds to costs properly, assigning and offering are parallel
E. to pass on the bulk of this costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and by offering some relief to workers usage of this to refer costs is improper.

IMO D. :)

I go with D because:

44. With health care costs climbing even higher during this enrolment season, more employers are adopting a tiered system for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and to offer some relief to workers who make less money.

A. for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and to offer some relief to workers
B. to pass on the bulk of these costs to its employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and by offering some relief to workers
C. for passing on the bulk of these costs to their employees through assigning bigger contributions for workers in top salary brackets but offering some relief to workers
D. to pass on the bulk of these costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and offering some relief to workers

to pass
these costs (plural)
their employees (their refers to employers, i.e. human)
by assigning (through would not work here)
and offering (extra by not required here)

E. to pass on the bulk of this costs to their employees by assigning bigger contributions to workers in top salary brackets and by offering some relief to workers
