Hi girishj,

The option D says "that if recognized and applied, students" and the statement becomes:

Critical-thinking instruction is predicted on two assumptions: that there are clearly
identifiable thinking skills that students can be taught to recognize and apply
appropriately, and that if recognized and applied, students will become more effective
thinkers.

This tells us that the students are being applied. That cannot be possible. Option E removes this ambiguity
Does this help?

Hi Ankur - I have posted couple of more questions in SC and CR. May I request your replies for those as well. Thanks in advance.
