nerve cells

by raunekk » Sat Oct 25, 2008 2:37 am
Q. Unlike other arachnids, which have their nerve cells
evenly distributed along their bodies, the scorpion’s
nerve cells are clustered in its head, like a mammal’s.

(A) bodies, the scorpion’s nerve cells are clustered in
its head, like a mammal’s
(B) bodies, the scorpion’s head had a cluster of nerve
cells, as a mammal does
(C) body, the scorpions has a cluster of nerve cells in its
head, as a mammal does
(D) body, nerve cells are clustered in the scorpion’s
head, like a mammal’s
(E) body, a cluster of nerve cells is in the scorpion’s
head, like a mammal’s

C looks the best among the remaining

'the scorpions has a cluster of nerve cells in its'
but why do we use a singular 'has' instead of a plural 'have' since 'scorpions' is plural.

Is this option posted correctly???

Hi Raunekk,

It seems the source from where you have picked up this question, have a typo mistake.

This question is already discussed over this forum and contains no such typo mistakes. Check the following link to see that question:

Also worth to be noted that Scorpion is a type of Arachnids. So Scorpion is compared with his family of other Arachnids to distinguish Scorpion with rest of its family.
