To find: Value of "Z"
Statement 1:
1 < √z < 5
√z can be 2,3,4 correspondingly "z" will vary
INSUFFICIENT
Statement 2:
The number between 10 & 24 which is a prefect square : 16
So, z=16
SUFFICIENT
Is it
{B}
??

Since √z = Integer, z = (integer)².mevicks wrote:If √z is a positive integer, what is the value of z?
(1) 1 < √z < 5
(2) 10 < z < 24
in other words, z is a perfect square; 1, 4, 9, 16, 25...
Statement 1: 1 < √z < 5
Since z is positive, we can square the entire inequality:
1 < z < 25.
It's possible that z=4, z=9, or z=16.
INSUFFICIENT.
Statement 2: 10 < z < 24
Thus, z=16.
SUFFICIENT.
The correct answer is B.
