B. annually if they prevented employee illness and gain as much as $200 billion through worker performance improved by simply providing

C. annually in employee illness prevention and gain as much as $200 billion through worker performance improved by simply providing

D. in employee illness prevention and gain as much as $200 billion through improving performance of workers if they simply provided

D?

annually =each year. the sentence begins with each year. use of annually is redundant. so A, B and C out.

savings can be made only in some outlays/ependiture, employee illness prevention is an expenditure, so the usage: savings in employee illness prevention seems proper. so D seems proper.

E. doesnt clarify save $58mm in what. leaves it arbit. "by preventing employee illness" is just the means of saving $58mm. it must be specified savings in what type of expenditure/s was/were made

Almost correct.

[spoiler]OA: E

D is awkward "in employee illness prevention"
Also "save in" is not right for this sentence whereas save by is

I chose E by POE but have a doubt here. Is provided correct verb here? Shouldn't it be provide? Each year companies could save blah blah..if they simply provide/provided offices with cleaner air. What's the appropriate usage. Plz clarify..

In D, through improving performance of workers
seems incorrect and it can be by improving performance of workers.

In E, through improved worker performance
seems correct usage. A,B and C are out as Each year and annually are redundant.

D is out coz of use of 'they', what does it refer to companies or workers?
On similar lines one can rule out A.

Also, 'annually' is redundant, as Q already mentions 'each year' which should take one straight to E.

A. annually by preventing illness among employees and gain as much as $200 billion through improving performance of workers if they simply provided

B. annually if they prevented employee illness and gain as much as $200 billion through worker performance improved by simply providing

C. annually in employee illness prevention and gain as much as $200 billion through worker performance improved by simply providing

D. in employee illness prevention and gain as much as $200 billion through improving performance of workers if they simply provided

E. by preventing illness among employees and gain as much as $200 billion through improved worker performance if they simply provided
E sounds right.
"save on illness prevention" changes meaning. means saving on medical insurance, not medical costs.
B sounds clumsy.
A. "annually" is redundant. repeat of "each year"
