Reading comprehension General Method.

by hellother » Mon Jul 02, 2012 8:47 am
Hello ,

I am able to figure out the answers in RC. But the problem is that it takes too much time. It takes about 10 minutes for a passage with 4 questions and about 13 minutes for a passage with 6 questions (on an average ). Some books tell us to skim through , others tell us to read the passage fully.Others also suggest reading the questions before going to the passage. But what is the best way? I have tried all 3 methods , and not much of a difference is there. So what is the best method ? I have just started studying RC's.So please give me some method which would be of use. How do I deal with the passage?

The answer is whatever method works best for you. The best advice I can give for timing is to read for structure not meaning. Then when you have a specific question you know where to find it in the passage.

i see your time is pretty good. :) 13 min for 6 q is amazing :) should come down wit practice.

Besides since rc is not the only questions that appear in Verbal. you can compensate a few mintuets+ by answering easy questions n CR and SC.
Looking forward to 2013 MBA admissions!
