"wages" is it singular or plural?

what is the correct form :

Wages are rising
or
My wages is less for my expenses.

wages = plural.

e.g. Her wages were a pittance as compared to her peers in other industries.

The wages in IT are higher than the national average.

wage is singular while wages is plural.....

I believe wages is plural but it can be singular in the following cases

The wages of sin is death.

yeah becoz here we are using the before wages
