Hi Chandan Badhan,
You've got a lot of great stuff here! Your chances at top business schools will depend to some degree on the people-leadership in your background, not all of which is visible in the data you've given us. Your GMAT, particularly the verbal, is somewhat low for your target schools, so your application materials should focus on the communication skills you employ as a team leader, and particularly highlight if any of your work has involved international collaborations.

Age 31 is a gray area: old for a full-time MBA, young for an EMBA. Sometimes you can work around that by showing how much added value you bring to the program from broad leadership experiences, but at the same time you will need to show your need for an MBA by identifying a particular career redirection that you have in mind. A one-year program is wise, and I do recommend a spread of stretch and safe schools.

How can you tell what is safe and what is stretch? Analyze the class profile of this year's incoming class, which is usually on the school's website and/or accessible on sites such as Bloomberg. Align your numbers with that class: where are you at or above the median in quantifiable components such as years of work experience, GPA, GMAT? Where are you below?

Other components that aren't quantifiable, such as your leadership, initiative, impact and international exposure, are the areas you can strengthen in your essays and resume. Pulling together an application that highlights your strengths while neutralizing any weaknesses, and targeting the appropriate programs for your age and goals, ought to make you a strong candidate for a one-year international MBA.

Good luck!
