The table indicates that m = d+z and that n = e+y.
Thus, m+n = d+z+e+y.
Question rephrased:
What is the value of d+e+y+z?
Statement 1: d+y = -3
No information about e and z.
INSUFFICIENT.
Statement 2: e+z = 12
No information about d and y.
INSUFFICIENT.
Statements combined:
Adding together the 2 equations, we get:
(d+y) + (e+z) = -3+12
d+e+y+z = 9.
SUFFICIENT.
The correct answer is C.
