Trisha: Today’s family is declining in its ability to carry out its functions of child-rearing and providing stability for adult life. There must be a return to the traditional values of commitment and responsibility.
Jerod: We ought to leave what is good enough alone. Contemporary families may be less stable than traditionally, but most people do not find that to be bad. Contemporary criticisms of the family are overblown and destructive.
Trisha and Jerod disagree over whether the institution of the family is
(A) adequate as it is
(B) changing over time
(C) valued by most people
(D) not going to survive
(E) no longer traditional
family

To me its A / D
Trisha says things have changed and there is no stability and express concern. Says need old style.
Jerod says Dont worry its all over blown.
One thinks there is a crisis/inadequacy or and other does not think there is crisis/inadequacy . Thats why I feel that they disagree over whether institution of family will survive or not
Will go with A as will not survive is a little bit of a stretch

Only Jerod says stuff about how its viewed by others. Trisha is concerned about the family institution herself and feels that its not good. Jerod says its fine as it is, its just over blown.

I will go for A .. they are not discussing about family survival .. instead one says the deffects of current family arrangement and thereby supports that traditional was better and the other contradicts that ....

IMO: D
A: Both agree that contemporary families are less stable.
B. Both agreed to it.
C. No comments by Trisha on 'Numbers of People' who consider contemporary families better.
D. Both are discussing whether they will last or not, Trisha says no they won't they don't have XYZ qualities and other guy says they will do as they are supported by more people.
E. Again both agree to it.

When you think you can or you cannot, you are generally correct.

Explicitly Trisha and Jerod are debating whether contemporary family values are good enough or not, where Trisha is against the motion while Jerod is for the motion. So, A is the answer
