Profile Evaluation

Hello,

I am a recent grad from Cal Poly Pomona with a BS in Finance, Real Estate, Law and a CGPA of 2.7. I am wondering if I should start building an alternative transcript now or wait until after I take my GMAT?

Thanks,

James

James,

An alternative transcript can be built either by completing a Masters degree or by enrolling in a part-time program (in classroom or online).

If a Master degree would be highly relevant for your career path, then that can be a substantive way to show your commitment to education. The downside with a Master degree is that it is a huge investment of both time and money, so I would only advise that route if it offers many other career benefits.

Otherwise, I suggest enrolling in part-time quantitative courses in the year leading up to the year you plan to apply for your MBA. That way it will be most representative of your current academic abilities when you apply. Therefore, you would study for and take the GMAT first and later take the courses.

Hope that helps!

Best,
Heidi
