GMAT on the 25th!

by Saana » Mon Jun 04, 2012 3:18 am
Hi im taking my GMAT on the 25th of this month. I have been averaging a 600 score and I want a 700+.
My quants are strong and I practice regularly. My verbal is very weak.
I spend about 4 hours a day and have 3 weeks left!
I have the 8MGMAT books and OG 12.
which books can I use for more practise and how do I study for the verbal part?
Thanks :D

I would do
1. OG 12..
2. OG verbal
3. OG 13 only new questions
4. Question Pack (you can get it form MBA.com)
5. Old retired Gmac tests (you can get it form MBA.com)

Also would do a particular topic and quesitons related to it.
Example
Sc --> Modifiers --> All questions related to modifiers from sources mentioned above
CR --> Assumption--> All questions related to Assumptions from sources mentioned above
RC--> Science passage--> All questions related to Assumptions from sources mentioned above

I would have a stretegy for each topic .. A strategy how would I tackle assumptions questions , how would I tackle social science passages... etc

ALso would do all i can to get the maximum in Quant.. so can reach the target of 700

good luck

Thanks for your response!
So you feel its worth getting the OG 13?
And yes, Ill follow those books and brush up on my quants as well
When should I start taking mocks, considering I have only 20 days left! ?
Thanks :)

For CATs, don't take them everyday, though you can attempt every 3-4 days so that you can spend one whole day writing the test, and making an error log while going over explanations, while the next 1-2 days should be spent on re-reading or reviewing the weaknesses with additional practice. This will give you enough rest time to attack the next test.

For SC: check this post [ https://gmatkolaveri.tumblr.com/post/195 ... correction ]. Also use elimination skill as primary and concept as secondary(on easier ones). on difficult ones concentrate on the meaning.
For CR: Use your reasoning skills as primary skill and elimination as secondary (rules for incorrect, negation technique on assumptions)
For RC: Use Gin's approach.

Devote 80% of time to Verbal and 20% to Quant.
