summit corporation

Most employees in the computer industry move from
company to company, changing jobs several times in
their careers. However, Summit Computers is known
throughout the industry for retaining its employees.
Summit credits its success in retaining employees to
its informal, nonhierarchical work environment.
Which of the following, if true, most strongly supports
Summit's explanation of its success in retaining
employees?

(A) Some people employed in the computer industry
change jobs if they become bored with their
current projects.
(B) A hierarchical work environment hinders the
cooperative exchange of ideas that computer
industry employees consider necessary for
their work.
Many of Summit's senior employees had
previously worked at only one other computer
company.
(D) In a nonhierarchical work environment, people
avoid behavior that might threaten group
harmony and thus avoid discussing with their
colleagues any dissatisfaction they might have
with their jobs.
(E) The cost of living near Summit is relatively low
compared to areas in which some other
computer companies are located.
OA:b
I did this Q 3 times but i cannot convince with the right answer and each time, i again choose D.. could sum1 give me a reasoning that I persuade it is B

(B) A hierarchical work environment hinders the cooperative exchange of ideas that computer industry employees consider necessary for their work. - This says that non-hierarchical work environment supports the exchange of ideas and this exchange of ideas is important for the work and so the attrition rate is less.

(D) In a nonhierarchical work environment, people avoid behavior that might threaten group harmony and thus avoid discussing with their colleagues any dissatisfaction they might have with their jobs. - This says that nonhierarchical work environment boosts non sharing of dissatisfaction, if any but dissatisfaction may exist and if dissatisfaction exists then how long can any firm retain its employees. Hence, it is wrong answer.

Concl: Summit credits informal/non-hierarchical environment.

Evid: Summit known for retaining employees.

Assump: Must be a link between employees wanting to stay and informal environment. Employees LIKE informal/non-hierarchical environments.

Question: What strengthens?

Prediction: (see Assumption)

The only choice that relates to employee happiness at work is B. It shows that hierarchical environments are not (+) for employees. By POE, it must be B.

I see you post many times. I appreciate your posting and learn much from it.

However, I wish you can write longer, more detaily, and breaddown your thought process step by step so that we can learn more from you. Thank you.
